meow meow
(thrifted leopard singlet, vintage black shorts, Scooter sandals, Kookai trilby)
one of my favorite thrifting finds, and always the first thing i grab when im feeling un-creative. leopard is my prescription for boring outfit days, you just can't look boring if youve got something that says MEOOOW on. i love the hankerchief cut of this one, and the material is so cool against my skin, perfect for perth's famous 40degree weather.

hello summer.
(thrifted butterfly top, Guess cutoffs)
one day temperatures were in the low 20's and all of a sudden it was at 36degrees. summer has literally creeped up on us. the beach was calling, and we answered. now im not usually a fan of the season, perth summers can be horrible, especially when it's at 40something degrees and all the flies are everywhere and it just gets too hot to do anything...but i always say the first day of summer is always magical. so much promise of what the season can bring...and those hot balmy summer nights, i like those. :)
i wasnt too sure about this top...butterflies remind me of a certain mariah carey phase in the 90's that i would love to forget or erase altogether. today though, this top seemed appropriate for the very hot sticky weather, and when i put it on i just comitted. it wasnt just appropriate, it was perfect, and i expect it will get a lot of wear-time in the coming months... ..
happy summer peoples, ill see you all at the beach :)

autumn rabbit
(thrifted faux fur gillet, American Apparel tshirt, Guess cutoffs, laceup fringe booties)
today was fuh-reeezing. talk about the longest winter, i cant believe its october and im still wearing tights under my shorts. oh well, can't complain , at least the constant rain has ceased and anyway, any reason to bust out the faux fur is fine by me.
still scouring opshops for the perfect jeans to turn into shorts to replace this one. not looking forward to replacing, but it has to be done. even i think they're too short now. ho hum ...

V is for velvet
(thrifted velvet shirt, vintage Guess cut-offs, MNG belt, vintage DrM's)
another item from ze velvet collection. did i mention i was going through a velvet phase? i am. never used to be a fan, until one night i dreamt i was wearing this amazing velvet dress, which then inspired a velvet hunt for said dress (or anything remotely similar). next day i found those velvet shorts, and voila, a velvet crush is born. i dont know why i was so biased against them as they are the most awesome fabric. they always flatter and hug areas that need to be hugged, they hide all those lumps and bumps you want to keep hidden, its warm in winter AND the best bit, they never ever crinkle, which is perfect for me and my clothes on a pile on the floor ways! whats not to love?
my hair has been in that same bun for a couple days now. note to self: must. wash. hair. tonite.

sweeeet disposition, never too soon
(thrifted floral top, MNG paperbag shorts, Urban Soul mules)
i wasnt looking for another floral top, i didnt even need another floral top, but i saw this hanging at my local Salvos and noticed the pretty pretty sleeves and couldnt walk away. its so floaty and girly, and romantic, a perfect distraction from all the leather, studs, and grunge ive been rocking as of late. much as i love the i-was-raised-by-mountain-lions look, spending the day in the girliest of garments is always a welcome change.
watched 500 days of summer last night. LOVED IT. always loved zooey, but never been a fan of mr gordon-levitt...till now. we're planning a december wedding :)
