there's nothing easier than slipping on a little black dress, especially on days you have nothing to wear/no time to think of what to wear, which what my mornings before work have been like. this one is a current favorite, picked it up the 18++ rack at my local good sammys. thats another thing about thrifting, you can turn huge tops into really cute dresses and no one knows any different. i had to put that chain on the back collar to pull it back and stop it from drooping too low, other than that, ze dress is perfecto. *sigh* i wish every alteration could be this easy!

more pictures from the weekends thrifting adventure. i could not believe it when i found this denim beauty hanging on the rack at the Winifred and Bance yard sale. does it not look like some denim exoskeleton of some sort?? im so convinced it was meant for me, thats the only explanation i can come up with as to why it was not snapped up before i got there. that and i was planning to do something similar to an old denim jacket, but obviously the universe thought it would be better to just give this to me and save ze trusty denim jacket for other DIY projects. oh how i love it when things work out perfectly :)

best thrifting day ever! it was just one of those days where you see so many amaaazing pieces you get a head rush. finally finally found my vintage leopard coat (among other things), so funny i should come across this on a 37 degree day. but thats what i love about thrifting, you just never know what youre going to find. :)

also, currently loving this tank dress + DrM's look. expect to see a lot of this in summer...at least until it gets too hot to wear boots. then again, it was unbelievably hot today (my back was saturated, esp in the tiny changerooms!) and i made it through, so maybe i'll just wear this all throughout next winter!

b-b-b-bulletpoints!
* i can imagine maria from the sound of music singing my favorite things while constructing this tunic out of some doilies and tablecloths she found lying around the von trapp mansion. seeing as i love maria, the sound of music, my favorite things, and doilies, this tunic has been bumped into the top five of my current favorite things.
* "i cant wait for you to be over this see-through phase!" - ze boyfriend/photographer
* was forced to buy summer sandals for work, and now im wondering what took me so long.
*currently going through a love-hate relationship with my pink lipstick. somedays its awesome, other times i feel like an asian malibu barbie - not a good look, and no, im not being racist.
* bought a polaroid camera for 65bones...didnt realize film cost a whopping $65 as well. gaaaaah...but honestly, i would have bought it anyway. another thing scratched off the "before i die i will own..." shopping list :)

can't believe it's friday again. why does time keep moving so fast???

i love colorful shoes. i mean, how can you not?? it's the perfect outfit pick-me-up and it doesnt even have to match. ive always been a fan of a random color thrown into any outfit, and shoes are perfect for this. this being said, i am ashamed to admit i dont really have a lot of color in my shoe rack, something that has to be remedied immediately. i love giving myself wardrobe homework, sometimes i find shopping with a goal in mind so rewarding =P

on other news, its that time of the year when people in my neighborhood put out old furniture they dont want anymore. found the most perfect sidetable for the boy, it was shaped like an S, but it was obviously not meant to be as it was there no longer wen we came to collect it after work. on the upside, we came home one shelving unit and a bunch of pictures richer, so really who am i to complain? :)

a basic (top) + a favorite (skirt) + an old faithful (shoes) + something unexpected (studded clutch!) = the perfect recipe for effortless chic. it's a no-brainer! follow this simple formula and you will no doubt always love what youre wearing, feel comfortable in them, and will exude confidence because of this! works for me, everytime :)

i always get excited when i find dresses in opshops that need no alteration of any kind. this proves to be extremely rare as almost always it needs to be taken in and hemmed up and seeing as i am hopeless with a sewing machine and can't always afford alteration prices i very rarely get to buy dresses. so imagine my joy when i saw this little number hanging on the $5 rack of one of my favorite Subi opshops, just waiting for me to find! even more joy was to be had when i realized it was a perfect fit and a perfect length it gets plus points for being leopard and velvet-y, making it this week's favorite thrifting find :)
