a basic (top) + a favorite (skirt) + an old faithful (shoes) + something unexpected (studded clutch!) = the perfect recipe for effortless chic. it's a no-brainer! follow this simple formula and you will no doubt always love what youre wearing, feel comfortable in them, and will exude confidence because of this! works for me, everytime :)

i always get excited when i find dresses in opshops that need no alteration of any kind. this proves to be extremely rare as almost always it needs to be taken in and hemmed up and seeing as i am hopeless with a sewing machine and can't always afford alteration prices i very rarely get to buy dresses. so imagine my joy when i saw this little number hanging on the $5 rack of one of my favorite Subi opshops, just waiting for me to find! even more joy was to be had when i realized it was a perfect fit and a perfect length it gets plus points for being leopard and velvet-y, making it this week's favorite thrifting find :)

ive had this halter since the mid-nineties. not even joking, so many memories and beach trips and coming-of-age moments attached to it that i cant bear to give it away. what was first a favorite "club top" during what i like to think of as my skanky days, turned the perfect beach top during my beachbum phase. i used to wear it so often it rarely got washed...and now it comes out once maybe every year (or two) to remind me of the good old days. aaaah, nostalgia :)

this jumper has become somewhat of a spring/summer basic for me, i find myself unintentionally reaching for it everytime i feel a breeze outside. it's warm and airy at the same time, making it perfect for this weird hot-cold start of summer we seem to be having this year. it was to be my first DIY knit-shredding project but can't seem to start on that yet, everytime i wear it i feel for the moment it's perfect just as it is.

went on a little shopping spree on the weekend and this is everything i have to show for it. Quite possibly the thriftiest shopping spree ever as this whole outfit cost just a little over 50 bones. best bargain were the shoes at the amazing price of 28 bones! ive been on a mad search for a pair of brogues to wear on a daily basis so YAY for another item off that perpetually growing shopping list.

first sunday sesh of the season, and i forgot to take outfit pictures sober. oh well, you can kind of see it. yes, its that leotard again. bought it on sale and wasnt sure i was too happy with all the hearts, and now in retrospect, i can think of so many outfits that wouldnt work without it. sometimes, we were just fated to buy things, y'know?

sorry for the lack of activity in here. new computer, lots of picture transferring, but ive finally got everything sorted. finally. :)
