my new favorite vest, how can you not love anything that combines velvet and beads? its like, a match made in clothing heaven.
went on a mini-shopping spree yesterday. it was just one of those days when you go into the universe expecting to purchase nothing, and all these amazing deals and sales come at you and its almost ridiculuous to say no. like say, i have been in dire need of new sunglasses, especially since the wayfarers broke and i left my luellas in powerplant in the philippines. enter sunglass hut in harbourtown, where they had those vintage rayban aviators in silver with mirrored lenses for $90. wtffff??? and to top it off, they had these round persols that look like them karen walker super dupers ive been eyeing, for only $100...so two sunnies for under $200? SOLD! and at perfume factory, i finally finally got my bvlgari amethyst and marc jacobs' lola for $85. say whaaaa?? and they were the big bottles too. i know, i know, good job maxxie, im patting myself on the back as we speak. :)

+ backless dresses
+ these combat boots
+ summer sunshine (very different to summer sun/heat, which is the enemy at the moment. 42 on thursday??!! REALLY??!)
+ sportsgirl nail polish
+ that Givenchy Nightingale knock-off sitting in Witchery, which will be mine in a matter of days. mmmmwahahahaha!!!

new favorite dress, meet everyone. everyone, meet new favorite dress. in case it wasnt obvious, im currently obsessed with polka dots, and this is the newest addition to my polkadot army. the dots seem to be everywhere at the moment, everytime i walk into a high street store, my eyes seem to be bombarded . upside, they aint hard to find. downside, its hard to find a truly unique polkadotted garment...but thats what thrifting is for, right? :)

its been a crazy week, so much happening, and not all of the good. there are some amazing highlights though, memories made that are definitely for the books...bracing myself for what the next week has to offer, and im kinda hoping the fates go easy on me this week =P

hello again, sorry for the lack of posting. im finding it hard to actually get dressed in the morning, much less put on something photo-worthy. this always happens to me during the in-between seasons, im just over everything summer, but its way too early to start piling on the layers. this weather isnt helping either, what with all the hot humid air and cloudy skies. plus the days are starting to get shorter, so there is a very small window of good photo lighting before everything turns grey, which unfortunately is about the same time the boyf comes home from work to take my photos. but anyway, enough about that, bottom line, i will try to make more of an effort.
moving on, i dont kow what is more amazing, this tunic or the shoes??! the tunic is made of this really light somewhat ruchey material similar to that of the sarongs you can find in bali. plus i love the slit at the front, makes it so perfect to wear with cutoffs, imo. and the shoes...the shoes! i have searched far and wide for a pair of brogues like this, and im so happy that hunt has finally come to an end. my jewish boyfriend says they look like a granma's holocaust shoes ( i know, i know, SO WRONG! but he is jewish, so i guess he can say that =P) and for some reason, it makes me love them even more! havent stopped wearing em since i got em at the ginger fox's market stall on the weekend.

theis weather is so schizophrenic, it starts off cold, then hot, then cold again towards the evening. what happened to those hot summer nights? we're definitely still owed a few! and it makes getting dressed in the morning so hard, all you can think off is the morning chill and it makes you want to put some layers on, but you know youre gonna be sweating it off towards the arvo. damn global warming, we're turning into melbourne weather more and more each day.
i've had these shorts for about 2 years now, never really wore them much because i was skinnier when i bought it, and it was almost too baggy. its a perfect fit now (damn you kilos!!!) and they remind me of those brown leather high-waisted zara shorts ive seen on a number of fashion bloggers. ive had my eye on those shorts for a while, but i told myself i would not shop so much after the trip so these will have to do!

the past 2 weeks' shoe obsession. i wanted so badly the Chloe Sevigny for opening Ceremony ones, but my meager little retail salary would not allow it. they do, however, allow these amazing Marcs wedges, which look almost identical to the real deal, and so freaking comfortable i dont want to ever take it off! plus, at almost 70% off the regular retail price and the fact that there was one left in the only Marcs store in perth, and in my size, and it's one of 12 in the whole wa. i know i know, FATE. :)
