isnt it amazing how when you feel really really good about what youre wearing your whole day just seems to turn out, well, amazing! i have to admit, a chunk of the amazing-ness of that day was due to ze beyond amazing leopard ankle boots. yes, finally, they're miiiiine!!! they're so amazing its almost allowed me to forget about those ashish for topshop leopard wedges im trying so hard not to think about. =P the white tunic is an old favorite, it's actually an oversized knit top that ive turned into a dress. one of the perks of being a little person, just about anything can be turned into dresses.
so on this amazing sunday, the boyfriend and i took a stroll around leederville and surprise surprise, there were market stalls everywhere on the streets, and a spanish band playing, and a pop-up designer clearance store where i picked up the most amazing Antipodium poncho, made from some garbage bag-like material, and big enough to look like a bat cape. and the very best bit? it was a whopping 70bones, down from $410. i was so happy i wanted to hug myself. it seems the sun has been shining a little too brightly on me lately, and im just going with the flow and hoping this lucky run doesnt run out too soon!

it's been a pretty good couple'a days. here a few things that are making me go wheee inside:
~ how things are falling into place on the workfront. its so new that everything is exciting and im pretty excited for my first showing and placing those orders through. i know i know, im a dork.
~ knowing i have a cut and blowdry pencilled in at Circles on Subi on Saturday. there's nothing better than looking forward to some hair therapy...except probably the actual act of "getting your hair done." and you know im talking about that head massage!
~ itunes countdown on [V], everyone needs a little mainstream in their lives.
~ denim shirts make the world go round. that and velvet, it never gets old!
~ OPI nail lacquer in Do You Lilac It? tempted to apply it again and again and again .....
~ those elke bird earings, mine in two short days!! :):)
~ ditto with the leopard ankle boots and my Bec and Bridge gingham tunic. Saturday, come too soon!
~ polaroid/ing. 'nuff said.
~ my cat, Catface, otherwise known as best cat ever.
~ RuPaul's Drag Race, what can i say, best. show. ever! never thought i would ever want to be a female impersonator...oh wait, i am female. i love ongina, even if she doesnt win.
~ finally watching Alice in Wonderland in 3D tomorrow, always been a fave and mr. burton is a genius. i'm excited to see what all the hoopla is about!
~ payday tomorrow!! first day of the payrise, you know what that means!
~ that nice long shower i'm going to be taking in 3...2.....1.....

it was a gorgeous sunday. took my favorite skirt of the moment out for a little stroll around subi. had churros and chocolate for brunch with the boyfriend, followed by an impromptu opshop spree which resulted in the triumphant finding of that elusive tuxedo blazer, a little on the oversized side, in other words perfect for me. had gelare waffles and ice cream, followed by half an hour browsing the fashion books at Boffins. two episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race, the boyfriend's bbq'd boerwoers, and 24 hours later, Perth was hit by it's biggest hail storm in...well, ever. imagine golf ball sized ice stones falling from the sky, smashing cars and windows.

life is pretty good at the moment. officially back in the working world this monday, got the job i really really wanted (fashion brand manager, oh yeeeah!) and celebrated by putting a number of things on layby which you will see me introduce over the next few weeks. among said items are a gorgeous pair of leopard wedges (different to the leopard ankle boots i posted about a few weeks ago -- yuuup, this winter is going to be all about the leopard!) and a Bec and Bridge gingham dress that i am very excited about. yes, i could have bought more, but didnt really want to blow my first paycheck on material things (i know right, a sense of newfound maturity perhaps?) especially since ive got bigger plans for ze moolah. finally going to take the plunge and colour my hair after a lifetime of planning to do it and an automobile purchase is in order, not to mention a trip to manila-land for the bestie's wedding. so yes, big purchases on the horizon so im trying to be good. i did go opshopping (finally!) and came home with a few goodies. good sammy's was having one of their 50% off sales so i walked out of there with 5 new treasures and having only spent $10. among these treasures are an oversized grey blazer so light it's pretty perfect for autumn, another gingham dress, a lace loin cloth of some sort, an oversized black blazer, and my personal favorite, the most amazing zebra-printed blazer you have ever seen in your life. of course all of these will be making their debut in ze blog shortly, it just felt good writing it all down.
the velvet dress in the pictures is an oldie which has surprisingly never been worn till now. it's actually a massive longsleeved top, so big maybe two of me can fit into it. it was in my "to alter" pile and for some reason i tried it on yesterday and it just seemed kind of perfect. i love the way green velvet looks, so pretty stoked i got to wear it finally! the shoes, honestly, were an impulse buy, but after wearing it the whole night last night and being introduced to their incredible comfort, im kind of pretty glad i purchased them. i love it when things like that work out.

doing a trial week at a new job for the past two days and i am so buggered! for the first time in a very very long time, i actually look forward to going to work. i'm taking it seriously, meaning actually doing some work as opposed to just sitting around and occasionally trying to occupy myself, which has unfortunately been the norm for the past 3 years. i guess it helps that i actually love what im doing at the moment, and its something i can turn into a career as opposed to just a job that pays the bills and shopping sprees. i woud love love love to broadcast it here, what exactly this occupation is, but i dont want to say anything to jinx it until the papers are signed and i am officially hired. my fingers are crossed though, and they seem to be happy with me and my performance so hopefully if all goes well, i will be gloating and sharing by monday.
all that and tiredness aside, errands must still be run, so after putting it off for the last two weeks, the boyf and i finally dragged ourselves to the shops to restock our very depleted pantry. the nights have been much cooler so i thought i would break in the velvet leggings as a pick me up. Bought them on holiday a few months ago and i have been itching to take them out. they did not disappoint, every time i caught my reflection i would see the velvety goodness and i swear i could feel this inner happiness purring inside me. velvet leggings, i mean really,s far as leggings go, it doesnt get any better, does it??!

i remember how everyone used to tie their jackets and jumpers and plaid shirts around their waists in the nineties. then it became super lame-o. i took the plunge today, and did it again out of convenience, and you know what? it felt pretty damn good, and i was feeling pretty cool paying homage to an old forgotten trend. go nineties, you were always my favorite decade.
