(thrifted velvet sweater and bag, vintage Guess shorts, Sportsgirl boots)
life is pretty good at the moment. officially back in the working world this monday, got the job i really really wanted (fashion brand manager, oh yeeeah!) and celebrated by putting a number of things on layby which you will see me introduce over the next few weeks. among said items are a gorgeous pair of leopard wedges (different to the leopard ankle boots i posted about a few weeks ago -- yuuup, this winter is going to be all about the leopard!) and a Bec and Bridge gingham dress that i am very excited about. yes, i could have bought more, but didnt really want to blow my first paycheck on material things (i know right, a sense of newfound maturity perhaps?) especially since ive got bigger plans for ze moolah. finally going to take the plunge and colour my hair after a lifetime of planning to do it and an automobile purchase is in order, not to mention a trip to manila-land for the bestie's wedding. so yes, big purchases on the horizon so im trying to be good. i did go opshopping (finally!) and came home with a few goodies. good sammy's was having one of their 50% off sales so i walked out of there with 5 new treasures and having only spent $10. among these treasures are an oversized grey blazer so light it's pretty perfect for autumn, another gingham dress, a lace loin cloth of some sort, an oversized black blazer, and my personal favorite, the most amazing zebra-printed blazer you have ever seen in your life. of course all of these will be making their debut in ze blog shortly, it just felt good writing it all down.
the velvet dress in the pictures is an oldie which has surprisingly never been worn till now. it's actually a massive longsleeved top, so big maybe two of me can fit into it. it was in my "to alter" pile and for some reason i tried it on yesterday and it just seemed kind of perfect. i love the way green velvet looks, so pretty stoked i got to wear it finally! the shoes, honestly, were an impulse buy, but after wearing it the whole night last night and being introduced to their incredible comfort, im kind of pretty glad i purchased them. i love it when things like that work out.
