* 12k city to surf...something i never thought i would ever do, and never fathomed i could actually do, but i did. and i finished...and in pretty good time. i love surprising myself. cross that one off the bucket list, yay for life's little achievements!

*for every calorie lost, it's about 10 calories gained! ok maxie, time to get serious. i mean really, it's starting to get ridiculous now.

*for every shoe picked up on layby, it' another two added to the list. this i am not sorry about, because i am never sorry for buying shoes. my first ever Jeffrey Campbells will be in my possession in 3 short weeks! love love having something to look forward to!

*having a big closet clearance sale in a few weeks, bit apprehensive about letting go, but excited about getting rid of a lot of stuff. keep telling myself they will be going to good homes...

*I FINALLY DID MY TAX!!!!! i wait with bated breathe.

*vampire diaries is almost back, i don't care if this makes me a loser, i freaking love this show!

and the outfit blurb: if a ponho and a hoodie had a baby, this top would be it. i call it a phonoodie (po-noo-dee). best little buy from the recent Manila trip, and so cheap, pretty sure this cost less than $10...foreign currency, you gotta love it! so tempted to dye it red, but i think i would miss the blue too much. and the shorts? i've been eyeing it for years, wanting it for ages, and finally, i found myself a pair on ebay for 40bones. scooore!

been having a series of blah days lately. feels like i'm in some kind of funk. work is hectic, and for every 10 i manage to cross off the to-do list, seems like another 20 has piled on. don't get me wrong, i'm loving the rush, it's just that time of the year i guess...or more to the point, that time of the season. everything i own looks like it's all been worn before (even the pieces that still have tags!), i feel like i have gained 30 kilos in winter blubber, and i'm kind of feeling like i want to hide under the covers and not come out till december! but don't be worried, i always get like this when seasons change. and funny that, despite all of this, i kind of wish winter was staying just a little bit longer.

i have been searching EVERYWHERE for a pair of palladiums like the ones i had in high school, and who wouldve thought i would find their high street counterparts sitting on a shelf in Rubi Shoes of all places??! aaaand what are the odds that the one time i go into Rubi, they would just be sitting there waiting for me?! you shouldve seen it, i literally lunged for it, pushing 2 asian girls out of the way. and the best bit? forty freaking dollars. if that isn't a win, i dont know what is!

soooo, this cardigan/shag has pretty much taken over my winter ensembles. everytime i need to throw something warm on, it's pretty much the first thing i reach for. sometimes i catch myself making an active effort not to wear it, but 9 out of 10 times, it's still ends up walking out the door with me. pretty good buy, considering it was on the sale rack for $40. love love love it when i get so much wear out of an impulse buy you salvage from the sale racks!

on another note, socks and heels is such a clever combination, i don't know why i never attempted it before. plus it makes my slightly too big shoes fit perfectly, always a bonus when you have little midget feet like me!

wednesday tomorrow, and officially the middle of the week. YAY. this week has been so hectic, i say bring on the weekend!

don't you love tshirts?...especially tshirts that don't look like tshirts? one of my favorite friends gave me this top and i pretty much wore it the entire weekend. loving the colours and the perfectly oversized shape, and it's so so comfortable! it's made from this weird crushed velvet but not quite velvet material (i can't really describe it) that i think all tshirts should be made off...that good! it's pretty wonderful when someone gives you an amazing thrifting find, and this is a perfect example. my friends are really the best ever. :)

also, finally finally finally had my hair did. looking like a zebra was getting old. i'm so stoked i can't even begin to describe, was just feeling so blah for the longest time. to be honest, i would have wanted it to be a little more red, but this will do for now. it's so funny how you procrastinate doing certain things, and when you finally do get around to doing it, you wonder what took you so long in the first place!

so i'm pretty in love with these shorts at the moment. love the cargo look and the fact that i can store nuts in the pockets while doing my shopping at Woolies, but the best bit is the elastic waist, which i am obsessed with at the moment. pretty freaking excited for summer, have seen this trend popping up in a lot of the summer ranges i have been doing over the past months, and i can't wait for the weather to warm up so i can wear it a little more often!

everyone should definitely have at least one pair of non-skinny jeans in their wardrobe, and pair it with a big poncho-like tshirt thing. trust me, no matter how shit you feel, they will always make you feel good.

what a weekend! had the best birthday party ever, but unfortunately can't remember half of it. i see photos and i'm like, "where was i??" and "oh, i don't remember this?!" but then there are the moments that i do remember, like that chick with a nipple hanging out, or when she faceplanted the wall...and the dancing dancing dancing, and my girls and the best boyfriend ever, and looking at the clock and realizing it was 3, then 4, then 5, then the sun was up. best birthday, ever.

and to think i was starting to think i was too old for this shit.
