currently loving all these boxxy smocky dresses. such a good shape, especially when you are going for an eat-all-you-can dimsum lunch. that and pleats....loooving all kinds of pleats right now. there is just something so pretty and high school about them, which immediately brings me back to happier care-free days. :)
also, currently mourning the loss of these favourite Karen Walkers. how i am able to lose 2 cherished sunglasses in a span of 3 months is beyond me. i keep hoping these are going to turn up as i really dont know where they could have gone, but i'm starting to give up hope and have been trawling the pages of shopbop for my next perfect pair.
and none of them are in the right colourrrr, i really want the Number Ones in an all black or plain tortoiseshell, but they are nowhere to be found.
again, desicions to me made, and i am the most indecisive person out there.

hope everyone has had a great week, and an even better weekend ahead! for all my fellow WA-ians, find somewhere dry where you can listen and enjoy all the rainy stormy sounds outside.
don't forget to play, lovers!

who you calling a hooker?

everyone has that favourite tshirt - you know the one - it's old, it's soft, it looks like it will disintegrate at any minute and could not possibly undergo another wash. in the philippines we called them "pambahay shirts," something you only wore in the house, and never when there are guests over. they used to drive my mom insane, with her often threatening to throw them away while we were in school. sometimes the siblings and i would be thrown into fits of rage when we would see one of the maids scrubbing walls with our favourite pambahay (in all their hole-y glory!)
well, years and years from then, and i am livining alone, and i still love my pambahay shirts. this is one of them, and my mother would probably have a fit if she knew not only was i wearing it in public, but actually posting them on my blog. it's super soft, practically sheer, and i love it when people do doubletakes when they see me walking around with HOOKER stamped across my chest. such an old faithful, and honestly the perfect little comfort tee on a cold dreary rainy day.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

lacebellbottoms

i have been obsessed with lace pants these last few days (weeksmonths), and these are definitely my favourite out of all of them so far. couldnt believe my eyes when i saw them hanging on the sale rack at Sportsgirl- with a further 30% off sticker no less! that and the fact that they didnt even have to be shortened made them officially mine before i had even paid. thank god i work in fashion so they are actually deemed "work appropriate attire,"and i dont need to wait for an actual occasion before busting them out. funnily enough, i am most comfortable in them when i wear them to work, maybe because i'm not the only one wearing crazy pants at the office. walking to buy lunch is that much more fun, especially when you catch the evil looks thrown at me by the old ladies in the nail studio next to the deli.
oh, how boring things were before these bad boys came into my life!

also, in the process of de-clutteirng my wardrobe. i know it seems like i do this all the time, but i'm thinking i really want a small wardrobe filled with pieces i absolutely looove and nothing else. culling is so so hard though, especially when you have things like these lace pants that you know you wont love forever, but at the same time, can never really get rid of it. as much as i want to be simple and smart about wardrobes and fashion and buying patterns, i honestly believe in my heart i was meant to be a hoarder.

aztec rose

(Fairground aztec wrap, IDS sheer shirt, Otto Mode frill shorts, 2 Baia Vista brogues, Sportsgirl satchel, Karen Walker sunglasses)

a short trip to the city on Sunday, and i come home 2 pairs of shoes richer. been needing a big pick-me-up as of late, and a shoe-pping trip is exactly what the doctor ordered. it's amazing just how good a new pair of shoes can make you feel, especially when the world is crapping on you daily. seems it's also turned my luck around, as the week is already looking pretty promising, and it's only monday!

currently having a pretty intense love affair with this cape. i especially love the print! i've always thought that aztec prints are like shots of adrenaline to an otherwise boring outfit.
anyway, i've had this cape for a while now, and god knows why i have waited so long before busting it out. i tend to do that..."saving outfits" for a perfect time to wear them. even weirder is 9 out of 10 times, i will eventually wear them on a nothing ocassion...like yesterday's shoe expedition. obviously not the same case for my shoes, these white brogue-y babies were one of yesterday's purchases, and were on my feet and taking me places faster than you can say "what took you so long?!"

certain shades of green

something about different shades of green have been making me very happy lately. maybe it's the fact that Wickedthemusical Day has finally come and gone, and it's left more than Defying Gravity songs on me. It was amazinggg by the way, and i would definitely see it again, and again, and again. The citizens of Emerald City had these amazing emerald-tinted John Lennon sunglasses that i would kill to have, and almost bought in the gift shop.
But, while those would have been a wicked but frivolous purchase, this oversized tshirt thing was not. Made from what i can only describe as the softest towel fabric ever, it's as comfortable as hot milk tea and a warm doona on a rainy day. plus, it's so big i reckon i could actually fit two of me in here...in other words, a perfect size to get lost in, and a perfect size for me!

hope everyone is somewhere warm and dry today. i keep hearing people complaining about the rain, but i am personally loving it. :)
