studsandstripes

(thrifted tee, MinkPink studded skirt, Target socks, Mollini patent booties)

ok, im pretty sure i have broken some fashion rule by wearing stripes and studs together, but i dont care. i'm on a print-mixing kick and kind of sick of wearing floral + stripes. plus i havent worn this skirt in ages and i thought it looked pretty sad just hanging on my wardobe...so voila. i wasnt sure at first but when i put them together i comitted. fashion crimes are fun anyways. :)

was such a good day today. totally breezy and relaxing...the way a day-off from work should be! i slept in, had my morning tea (with milk not cream, booo), took the boyfriend opshopping (a rare occasion, he never shops, much less opshops!) and found some nice gems. found a new opshop, actually, just a hop skip and a jump away from my house, and made friends with the old ladies that run it. they are currently holding an old school luggage thing....you know, those hard ones that look like theyve been all over the world. i will use it as a little table...or something. then went to lunch with the boyfriend at a little patisserie/cafe. too long cuts and walked from west leedy to leedy to subi, taking photos along the way. parted ways and went on a mission to find the perfect birthday dress. then went to meet a friend for some pasta, chocolate cake, wine, and do a bit of eye-flirting with the boys at the next table. all in all, a pretty great wednesday.

storm trooper

(thrifted vest, MNG tshirt, Dotti leggings, Sportsgirl scarf, Zu wedges, thrifted fringe bag)

i wish the polaroids were lighter so you could see the full effect of the leggings. they look like a storm's brewing on my legs, thanks to the awesome grey tyedye. i've been wanting to try printed leggings for a while but nothing seemed to suit me, funny how they were hanging on the racks of Dotti all alone. i try not to shop too much from the chain stores for fear of looking like everyone else, but for these babies, i'll take the plunge :)

grass is greener on my side

(thrifted lace cropped top, MNG jodhpurs and belt, thrifted vest, Mollini ankle boots, Luella sunnies)

i havent worn these jodhpurs in aaages. i bought them 5 years ago, packed them away 2 years ago, and unearthed them from a box of old clothes last wednesday. this was one of many forgotten treasures that i saved from the 4 boxes i have sitting in my pseudo-storeroom (hole sealed with door in the backyard's wall). everything else is to be sold in the markets in the next two weeks. im kind of excited. stay tuned ... .... ... :)

ashleygreene

i love these photos of ashley greene for hollywood life magazine. she is so stunning, she looks so delicate and ethereal. this is exactly how i pictured alice cullen whilst reading the books.

i love the styling as well...lovelove the headband thing in the fifth picture.

tut tut, it looks like rain ....

( thrifted silk black polo, MNG white cutoffs, DIY bike pants, boyfriend's cardi, Target socks, Mollini lace-ups, thrifted fringe bag, Luella sunnies, umbrella-ella-ella)

it was sunny when i got up, rainy when i came out, sunny again after the picture-taking. perth is most definitely turning into melbourne, at least where weather is concerned.

so i've been pretty obsessed with bike shorts lately so i thought, i dont care, im just going to do it. some cheap expendable leggings and a pair of scissors later and lo and behold, my first bike shorts since 1990 was born. ive been looking for floral ones in opshops and ebay, and i cant wait to wear them under white dresses in summer. and i'm still debating the white docs. i love the look, dont know if i'll be able to pull it off. i have to get over the "im too short to wear high boots" thought, especially since i know they're not even that high. anyway. moving on.
i bought these mollini's for $30, yay for staff discounts. not usually a fan of the kitten heel, i almost always prefer my shoes to be much much higher but with these, i couldnt resist. they're perfect for 8 hour days on your feet and they remind me of feminine man-shoes...or very sexy witch shoes. either way, it's looooove. :)

i wanted to be with you alone and talk about the weather

(vintage vest, Sportsgirl oversized beater, Supre leggings, Nine West wedges, vintage fringe bag, Sportsgirl beanie, Luella sunnies)

i remember last winter, the boyfriend got sick and used this beanie to warm his cold head. he mishaped and deformed it to an unfixable state and i was very very very upset. he copped a lot of grief for it and has since been banned from borrowing any beanies and trilbies because our heads are just not the right shape.
i found the beanie buried under my scarves today. i put it on for fun and expected to feel more anger at a ruined headpiece. to my delight, i didnt find it as unwearable as i did last year, and in fact, have fallen in love with the new shape.
i remember how sorry he was, and how unforgiving i was and ummm...yeah. im baking him cupcakes tomorrow. bless.

on another note, i bought the vest for summer florals, white denim, and festival dresses but when i saw the blue skies and sunny weather, i couldnt wait any longer to wear it. i never believed in "saving" clothes anyway. =P
