the last of my saved winter pictures, and oddly enough, quite a perfect outfit post for today's hot but rainy day.

today, i have lunch with my girlfriends, and then a spot of shopping. i love that those are the only things on the agenda.

maybe i'll leave the knit at home.

hello, lovers.

it's been a while...and yet so little has changed.

it's summer now. the change in seasons was pretty instant. literally raining and windy one day, and the voila, hello sun, flies, and 35 degree weather.

my camera died, a big sad technicolor gash straight down the middle of the screen. did i keep my receipt? typically no. and no, i will not even attempt to use this as an excuse to cover up reasons as to why i ahve been such a shit blogger lately. BUT it is a good excuse to get another. any ideas? i am very open to suggestion.

oh, and my hair has a green balyage thing going on. the frustration of not being able to take one good photo of it before it fades is killing me. funny how you never need a camera until you actually need one.

other than that, it's all work, eat, play, sleep, and now sunday sessions and the beach. sometimes it's nice to keep things simple. :)

the cape is an old friend, very rarely documented on this blog probably because i wear it all the time it doesnt actually feel special. and at the same time, that is probably my favourite thing about it.

ive said it before, and ive said it again. will try and update more.

when it rains...

so it seems we have been hit by a second winter here in little Perth, and i've been hit with an extra nasty bout of the flu. and had my first ever experience with something called gastric reflux, and let me tell you it was NOT fun. add a super busy two weeks at work and a missed fashion show due to the above ailments, and you have me, something of a very unhappy camper these last few days.

but in every thunderstorm, there is always a rainbow at the end of the tunnel...in my case a very old school bordering on daggy rainbow umbrella, but still. :)

there are definitely many things making me very happy. like the arrival of my Mimco fur bag. and the new Vampire diaries episode i am about to watch. And the Billie & Rose fashion parade yesterday. and chilltime with friends, and cuddletime/family time with the boy and catface. pretty much focusing on those and leaving everything else to the wind.

oh, and trying out this new look with bigger images. i hope you dont mind my face extra blown-up. dont think i have many (if any) avid followers, so if anything, i will be the only one who will most likely get annoyed at this blatant form of narcissism.

an almost summery day calls for the most summer-y of outfits! this light Wish top has topped the list of favourite things to mindlessly reach for in the morning. i dont usually wear prints but i'm really loving this one. plus there is a comfortable-but-not-slouchy vibe going on that makes it perfect for pretty much any occasion.

The sky blue Jeffrey's are a 'happy springtime' present to myself. it is a resolution that i will start to incorproate more colour into the wardrobe, and they seemed like the perfect place to start. soooo comfortable, and very reminiscent of my old Birkenstocks i loved so much in the 90s, and it honestly makes my day sunnier everytime i look at them. :)

been going through the motions of work, eat, sleep, and cuddles.

every day the sun sets a little later, my heart drops just a little - can't actually stand the thought of summer being just around the corner, despite all the wonderful summery dresses i have ordered walking into the agency. in the meantime, just enjoying the in-between weather of knit on-knit off and loving the fact that i can give the pants and tights a rest, even if it does involve tripping on my own feet not once but twice, and landing on the same freaking knee. pretty sure you can see my war scars on the pictures above as i always forget to photoshop the bruises. oh wells, so if life and ce'st la vie!

Finally ordered my new Karen Walkers and Helter Skelter should be here any day now. FINALLY.

why is it that time seems to go so slowly when you are waiting for a shopbop delivery to arrive?

oh, and i have worn this skirt to death, how is it that pleats go with just everything? and the length is perfect, i am not joking when i say i am over the short and totally embracing the awkward just above the knees hemline. my mother would be so proud.

still storming in little WA, but the pockets of sunshine each day feels a little like San Francisco - sunny with a cold wind - just the way i like it.

it's hard to mind the freezing temperatures, especially with this amazing knit cardigan. yes, it is as warm as it looks, and even more amazing in person. it also pretty much solves all "it's freezing what do i wear over this?" problems as it's always intentionally or unintentionally what i reach for before i leave the house every morning. such a no-brainer, and the maroon colour reminds me of red wine, which make me go "mmmm" and can only bring good thoughts on a blustery day.

stay dry, lovies, and hope you have someone or something to cuddle up to to keep warm!

currently loving all these boxxy smocky dresses. such a good shape, especially when you are going for an eat-all-you-can dimsum lunch. that and pleats....loooving all kinds of pleats right now. there is just something so pretty and high school about them, which immediately brings me back to happier care-free days. :)

also, currently mourning the loss of these favourite Karen Walkers. how i am able to lose 2 cherished sunglasses in a span of 3 months is beyond me. i keep hoping these are going to turn up as i really dont know where they could have gone, but i'm starting to give up hope and have been trawling the pages of shopbop for my next perfect pair.
