I've had this dress for forever, and still can't find myself to give it away. it's not one of my favourites, or even one that i don't think i'd miss. It often finds itself in my friends' wardrobes for months at a time and i never feel the need to ask for it back. Bought it on impulse on an "i hate what i'm wearing" day and somehow became my "church dress" ie: that dress you wear to meet people who care about things like poise and manners orrr going to conservative religious events. The boyfriend is jewish, so believe me, it comes in handy. And sometimes, when i'm flicking through the hordes on my racks, I come across it unexpectedly, and briefly realize I had actually forgotten about it. For some reason, it always seems to be just right.
Funny that.

love summer days when you can bust out the winter gear. woke up to a chilly morning, so jumped on the chance to wear this velvet thing i picked up at the end of winter last year and never got around to wearing. velvet is so easy. like, throw it on, and it doesnt matter what you wear with it, it will always make whatever you have on look amazing.

This week is going by so fast!! Feels like it was just the weekend, not almost the weekend. Work has been crazy and hectic and every synonym you can find for the word CRUNCH TIME and STRESS, but i guess that's half the fun. on the upside, all my winter deliveries are starting to come pouring in. i have no idea what i'm going to do with all the knits and capes that have started to trickle through, sometimes wearing it in the confines of my own house, enjoying the aircon, just so you know, i can be wearing it. this winter is going to be so so good.

going through a jack johnson phase at the moment. and a peach/orange sorbet shade of lipstick moment. and boxy dresses. and mid calf hemlines. oh, fashion, so much fun.

love waking up to a somewhat cool saturday, knowing the highest temperature today is going to be 30 degs. a day without extreme sweatyness and feeling some cool breeze make me want to run around semi naked, not because i can, but because it will actually feel good and not sticky and gross. for public decency's sake, a lace top and barely there shorts will do. and my world has been taken over by love of jeffrey campbell. these babies are a favourite, not just for the style and comfort, but because i won them at an ebay auction for $99 including postage. sometimes it amazes me what people put on their buy it nows. but oh wells, someone's loss is definitely my gain. oh jeffrey, be my boyfriend, and shower me with shoes, i will ask for nothing else, i swear. :)

trying to keep busy today. cleaning, laundry, and a spot (or two) of shopping make for a great productive day. hate it when chores pile up, but who doesnt love crossing them off the forever growing to-do list when they finally get done? today's the day. the boyfriend will be so happy with me when he gets back, and then it's off to a nice dinner to reward myself.
